Now Sold out of EU Affected TMHPD Herbs

31st October 2012

We have now sold out of all stock remaining affected by the Traditional Herbal Medicinal Products Directive.  Without doubt one of the most misguided, and unjust of the EU Directives.

Please do read our full article for an in depth discussion of the issues, along with the legal challenge that is being taken by the Alliance for Natural Health.  Please note there were absolutely no issues with safety on any of these products, and we represented the best of the marketplace being additive free and whole herb.

In some cases, we do have worthy food supplement replacements for the affected herbals, here is a full list of those products that were affected, and in some cases suggestions in their place.

  • Agnus Castus / Red Clover / Black Cohosh - please see either Wild Yam or Peruvian Maca
  • Cat's Claw - such a wonderful supplement for certain auto-immune issues, no replacement.
  • Devil's Claw - useful considerations here would be Turmeric and Serrapeptase
  • Echinacea Purpurea - being for the immune system, please see food supplements Olive Leaf Extract, Propolis or Zell Oxygen.
  • Eyebright - please see Bilberry.
  • Ginkgo Biloba - a few supplements that are helpful, but no real replacement for this one.
  • Milk Thistle - this supplement was wonderful for the liver, we have nothing we can recommend in place of this.
  • Saw Palmetto - please see Nettle Root.
  • For Valerian and Skullcap we have no replacements on our range.  For your reference, we do have a couple of articles that may be of interest;
